3. What coaching is (and isn't)
Coaching is a collaborative process that helps you explore your goals, develop self-awareness and create meaningful change.
Coaching is not counselling, psychotherapy, medical treatment or mental health care.
No diagnosis or treatment of medical or psychological conditions will be provided.
If, during coaching, it becomes clear that another type of professional support would be more appropriate, we may recommend that you seek assistance from a suitably qualified professional.
4. Professional Standards
Stephanie Bredenkamp is an EMCC-accredited coach and is committed to maintaining high professional and ethical standards.
Coaching services are delivered in accordance with the principles of the EMCC Global Code of Ethics, including professionalism, integrity, confidentiality and respect for clients.
You can find further information about the EMCC Global Code of Ethics on the EMCC Global website.
5. Client responsibilities
To get the most from coaching, you agree to:
attend sessions on time
participate openly and honestly
take responsibility for your own decisions and actions
complete agreed actions between sessions where appropriate
communicate respectfully throughout the coaching relationship
You remain responsible for all decisions you make during and after coaching.
6. Ending the Coaching Relationship
Coaching is a partnership built on trust, honesty, mutual respect and commitment from both coach and client.
Either party may end the coaching relationship at any time by providing written notice.
We reserve the right to end the coaching relationship immediately where we reasonably believe that:
continuing coaching is no longer in your best interests;
the coaching relationship has broken down to the extent that it is no longer productive;
there has been abusive, threatening, discriminatory or inappropriate behaviour towards us;
continuing the coaching relationship would be unethical or inconsistent with our professional obligations.
Where coaching ends before all prepaid sessions have been delivered, any refund will be considered fairly, taking into account the coaching services already provided, any costs already incurred and your statutory consumer rights.
7. Booking and payment
Payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Payments are securely processed through Stripe.
Bookings are confirmed once payment has been received.
8. Your Consumer Rights
If you purchase coaching services online, by telephone or by email, you may have the right to cancel your booking under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Unless your coaching session is due to take place within the 14-day cancellation period, you have the right to cancel your purchase within 14 days of entering into the contract and receive a full refund.
If you request that your coaching session begins within this 14-day cancellation period, you expressly agree that the coaching service may begin before the cancellation period has expired.
If the coaching service is fully delivered within the 14-day cancellation period, you acknowledge that your statutory right to cancel will end once the service has been completed.
Where only part of the service has been provided before cancellation, we reserve the right to deduct an amount reflecting the coaching services already delivered, as permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
9. Rescheduling
If you need to reschedule a session, please provide at least 24 hours' notice.
Where at least 24 hours' notice is given, your session may be rearranged without charge.
Requests made with less than 24 hours' notice may be treated as a late cancellation.
10. Cancellations
You may cancel your coaching session at any time.
Where at least 24 hours' notice is provided, you may choose to:
transfer your booking to another available date, or
receive a refund where applicable.
If less than 24 hours' notice is provided, the session fee may be retained.
11. Late arrivals
If you arrive late, the session will still finish at the agreed time to avoid impacting other clients.
If you are more than 15 minutes late without prior communication, the session may be treated as a missed appointment.
12. Missed appointments
If you do not attend your scheduled session without notice, the session will usually be forfeited and no refund will be provided.
13. Coaching packages
Where coaching packages are purchased:
sessions are non-transferable
unused sessions are non-refundable except where required by law
sessions should normally be used within the agreed timeframe unless otherwise agreed
14. Confidentiality
Your privacy is important.
Everything discussed during coaching will be treated as confidential unless:
you give permission for information to be shared
disclosure is required by law
there is concern that someone may be at risk of serious harm
Where disclosure becomes necessary, we will aim to discuss this with you first wherever reasonably possible.
15. Session notes
Brief coaching notes may be kept to support continuity between sessions.
These notes are stored securely and handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
16. Online sessions
Most coaching sessions take place via Zoom.
You are responsible for ensuring you have:
a suitable internet connection
a private environment where possible
a working microphone and camera
If technical issues arise, we will make reasonable efforts to reconnect or rearrange the session where appropriate.
17. Recording sessions
Sessions will not be recorded unless both parties agree beforehand.
If a recording is made, you will be informed how it will be stored and used.
18. Resources
From time to time, you may receive worksheets, exercises, reflections or other supporting resources.
These materials are provided for your personal use only.
They may not be copied, distributed, sold or reproduced without written permission.
19. Results
Coaching is a highly individual process.
While we aim to support meaningful progress, we cannot guarantee any particular personal, professional or financial outcome.
The results you achieve will depend on many factors, including your own commitment and actions.
20. Health and wellbeing
If you are experiencing significant mental health difficulties, crisis or severe emotional distress, coaching may not be the most appropriate form of support.
By engaging in coaching, you confirm that you understand coaching is not a substitute for healthcare or therapy.
21. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Home & Wares Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses arising from coaching services.
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the coaching service giving rise to the claim.
22. Force majeure
We shall not be responsible for delays or failure to provide services caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including internet outages, illness, severe weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Where possible, affected sessions will be rearranged.
